FAQ

Questions fleets ask first

Short answers on ELD, install, video, privacy, tracking and billing. Can't find yours? Talk to us.

Getting started

Do I need to replace my ELD?

No. Roudiy doesn't do hours of service. Keep your ELD. Roudiy adds cameras, live GPS and engine data in a separate dashboard.

I use Sun ELD. Is it a separate login?

No. Roudiy is from the team behind Sun ELD, and you sign in with the same login.

Do my drivers need to install anything?

No. Drivers never log in. Dispatchers assign drivers to trucks in the web dashboard, so every trip and event has a name.

Who in my company sees what?

You choose by role: company admin, dispatcher, safety manager or compliance manager. Groups by terminal limit which trucks each person sees.

How soon is a truck live?

The same day it's installed. Once the install check passes, the truck shows up in your dashboard.

Can Roudiy connect to my TMS or other software?

Not today. Tell us what you'd connect, and it helps decide what we build next.

Hardware & install

Who installs the hardware?

Our technicians. The kit ships to you, and we schedule the install. Before leaving, the technician runs a check: online, GPS fix, all three cameras and engine data.

Video & privacy

Who can see the driver-facing camera?

You choose which roles can see driver-facing video. Live view isn't recorded.

How long is video kept?

Retention is set by your plan.

How much live video do I get?

Each plan includes live minutes per camera per month. The player shows what's left, and the stream stops when the minutes run out.

Can I get video from earlier today or last week?

Yes. Request a clip by truck and time range, and the camera uploads it from its SD card. You can also browse and play the SD card in your browser. Request older footage soon, before the card overwrites it.

What happens when a truck loses signal?

Footage stays on the SD card. A clip request waits until the truck is back online. If a kit is silent for 24 hours, you get an alert.

Safety & alerts

What events does the camera detect?

20 types. Road: forward collision, close following, lane departure and pedestrian. Cab: distraction, phone use, fatigue, yawning, eyes closed, head down, smoking, drinking and no driver. Driving: harsh acceleration, braking and turns, collision, speeding over the device limit or the posted limit, and SOS.

How are drivers scored?

Each driver gets a score from 50 to 100, updated weekly from ten driving behaviors.

How does my team review events?

Every event lands in the Safety Inbox with video, a severity and the driver's name. Review in bulk, add tags and comments, and turn events into coaching sessions with a due date.

How do alerts reach me?

By email and in the dashboard. You set rules for safety events, geofences, idling, speeding, fault codes and offline kits, by group, truck or driver.

Will I get flooded with alerts?

No. Repeat events within two minutes collapse into one. Each rule has a cooldown and active hours you set.

Tracking

What does the live map show?

Every truck with its status: moving, idle, ignition off or offline. Trips, stops, idle time and history replay are kept per truck, per day.

Can I set geofences?

Yes. Draw circles or polygons, or import them from a CSV file. You get alerts when trucks enter or leave.

Does Roudiy read engine data?

Yes. The engine gateway reads odometer, fuel level, RPM, coolant temperature, battery voltage and fault codes.

Does Roudiy help with IFTA?

Yes. Roudiy totals quarterly miles by state from GPS. Import fuel purchases from a CSV file, then generate, lock and export the quarter.

Billing

Is there a contract?

Yes. Each kit has a 12-month term, billed monthly. The hardware is included. Billing starts the day a kit passes its install check, not the day it ships.

Do I own the hardware?

No. The hardware is included in your subscription. It goes back to us when the subscription ends.

How much does Roudiy cost?

Pricing is per kit, per month, and depends on your plan and fleet size. Tell us about your fleet, and we'll send pricing in writing.
